My Journey

I was born in the UK to British and Irish parents, however I grew up in Western Australia, completing a Bachelor of Music and Post Graduate Diploma in Voice through the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). I studied with mezzo soprano Patricia Price, and grew to discover my own voice as an operatic tenor, as well as my love of teaching through the mentoring of younger university vocal students.

I initially established myself in Perth as a soloist in the thriving scene of musical theatre and rock opera productions.  I became a member of the West Australian Opera Company who over 6 years encouraged and developed my early professional opera career as an ensemble member and as a featured soloist in over 20 operatic productions and countless concert opportunities.

Keen to reconnect to my European roots I moved back to the UK in 2010. I continued to study voice, with British baritone William Allenby,  Italian soprano Capucine Chiaudani, and recently with German based tenor Kaine Daniel Hayward. I continue to perform professionally throughout the UK with companies including Opera North, Holland Park Opera, Grange Park Opera and Dorset Opera, whilst continuing to expand on vocal and performance development through explorer larger roles with grass roots and UK touring companies.

Recognizing the therapeutic and psychological importance of music, in 2014 I began a part-time masters in music therapy through the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol which had a profound impact on both my teaching and my undertsanding of perfomance psychology. I now balance performance commitments with a passion for sharing my learning about vocal technique, performance and stage craft through private voice coaching and a part time role as an associate lecturer on staff at the University of Chichester ,
